I am working on a new collection of Spector Stories, Cauldron Tales in the genre of traditional ghost stories built around the winter celebrations from Halloween through Valentines Day. These stories are designed to be read or told orally to audiences of mixed ages. A night when the wind in the trees make branches crackle and their snapping sound sends shivers up your spine is an excellent time to read or tell these stories.
The second installment of the Capital Crimes Series is underway with a working title of Honed Blade. Research led me to study the early migration of immigrants over the Appalachian Mountains prior to European settlement of the Atlantic coast. Modern DNA samples show traces of Jewish ancestry in some family lines of the Melungions (tri-racial groups) who were present in the Cumberland Gap area before “white” exploration. I use this information to give Evan Blade a family he didn’t know existed when a young stranger arrives in Capital City in search of a killer.
